The Quantum Storytelling Conference is an annual event focused on exploring the intersection of storytelling with quantum concepts. It is organized by David Michael Boje and Grace Ann Roosile and is often held in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The conference aims to bring together diverse ways of knowing (D-WOK) through storytelling, emphasizing a conversation among various methods of understanding and knowledge.

The Quantum Storytelling Conference is co-sponsored by the True Storytelling® Institute and the Organizational Storytellling Review - journal.

Key aspects of the conference include:

Purpose:

It seeks to harvest a cornucopia of diverse ways of knowing, positioning quantum storytelling as one approach among others. The event is designed to facilitate discussions on how storytelling can incorporate quantum mechanics, indigenous knowledge, and other narrative forms.

Content and Themes:

The conference delves into topics like indigenous storytelling, quantum living stories, and how storytelling can be seen through a quantum lens where stories are dynamic, interconnected, and potentially exist in multiple states simultaneously, much like quantum particles.

Historical Context:

The conference has been running for several years, with past events including the 6th International Quantum Storytelling Conference in 2016, highlighting indigenous stories and leadership. More recent iterations, like the 13th Annual Quantum Storytelling Conference announced in 2023, have focused on a broad range of storytelling approaches from antenarratives to African-American storytelling for organizing. The 15th Annual Quantum Storytelling Conference will be held in Las Cruces, New Mexico in December 2025.

Location and Format:

Typically held in December, the conference takes place at various locations associated with David Boje and Grace Ann Rosile, including New Mexico State University and Fisk University.

Broader Impact:

Beyond the annual conference, Quantum Storytelling has expanded into a broader framework, influencing research, publications, and even a podcast where David Boje discusses these concepts.
